Edgar Bird

Edgar Bird is a designer based in Masterton, who uses recycled fabrics and garments in his designs. He has customers come to him with garments they love, but can no longer wear them in their current state, so he modifies them into something, the owner can then wear. He also created a whole cohesive collection just from recycled fabrics. (See below, the photos and information are from Edgar Birds business Facebook page.)

I was inspired by this approach and incorporated it into my project. I redesigned and fixed and altered existing garments and only used “found” fabrics from the scrap bin.
